Cayo Levantado, often called Bacardi Island due to a historic ad shoot, is a small islet in Samaná Bay accessible by ferry. Visitors come for its pristine white sand beaches fringed with coconut palms and turquoise waters. The island is home to an all-inclusive resort, but day passes allow non-guests to enjoy the beach, restaurants, and water sports. It's a quintessential tropical escape for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling in calm bay waters.

Don't miss

  • Relax on the powdery white sand beach with calm, clear waters perfect for swimming.
  • Snorkel around the island's rocky edges to see tropical fish and coral formations.
  • Sip a coconut drink at one of the beachfront bars while enjoying live merengue music.
