Morne aux Diables, or Devil's Peak, rises to 861 meters in Dominica's northern interior, offering one of the island's most rewarding hikes. The trail begins in the village of Capuchin and ascends through dense rainforest, passing giant ferns and mossy trees before emerging onto the volcanic summit. From the top, hikers are treated to sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and neighboring islands on clear days. The mountain's volcanic origin is evident in its rugged terrain and occasional fumaroles. This hike is best suited for experienced trekkers due to its steep, muddy sections.

Don't miss

  • Reach the summit for 360-degree views of Dominica and the sea
  • Spot tropical birds and unique flora along the rainforest trail
  • Observe volcanic features like fumaroles near the peak
