Sankt Laurentii Church Tower is all that remains of a 12th-century church that was demolished in the 19th century. The sturdy brick tower now stands alone in a small park, and visitors can climb the narrow spiral staircase to the viewing platform for a sweeping vista of Roskilde’s rooftops, the twin-spired cathedral, and the fjord. Informational panels inside recount the tower’s history and the former church’s role in medieval Roskilde.

Don't miss

  • Climb to the top for 360-degree views of Roskilde and the fjord
  • See the preserved medieval brickwork and Gothic windows
  • Read the historical displays about the original church
