The Great Synagogue in Plzeň is a magnificent Moorish Revival building completed in 1893, second only to Budapest's Dohány Street Synagogue in size. Its twin towers and ornate interior blend Islamic and Jewish motifs. The synagogue houses a museum documenting the history of Plzeň's Jewish community, including artifacts from the Holocaust. Visitors can also explore the restored prayer hall and climb one tower for views of the city.
