Lára Beach is a secluded stretch of sand on the western coast of the Akamas Peninsula, known as a critical nesting site for green and loggerhead turtles. The beach is protected, with marked nesting areas and a conservation station. Access is via a rough dirt track that requires a 4x4, keeping the beach quiet and wild. Visitors can see turtle nests (in season) and the clear waters are good for snorkeling, but swimming may be restricted to protect nests. It's a raw, natural beach far from crowds.
Don't miss
- Observe protected turtle nests and possibly hatchlings from June to October.
- Snorkel in the clear, calm waters off the beach (avoiding nesting areas).
- Enjoy the remote, unspoiled setting with few visitors and no facilities.
