Petra tou Romiou, also known as Aphrodite's Rock, is a striking sea stack off the coast of Pissouri, Cyprus. According to myth, this is where the goddess Aphrodite was born from the sea foam. Visitors come to admire the rugged beauty of the rock against the turquoise waters, often stopping at the roadside viewpoint to take photos. The site is particularly magical at sunset, when the light casts a golden glow over the scene. While swimming is possible, the pebbly beach and occasional strong currents require caution.

Don't miss

  • Watch the sunset from the viewpoint, when the rock and sea are bathed in golden light.
  • Toss a pebble into the water from the beach, local legend says it brings good luck.
  • Photograph the sea stack from the elevated platform for a classic shot.
