Protaras is a purpose-built resort town on the southeast coast of Cyprus, centered around the stunning Fig Tree Bay, a long sweep of soft golden sand lapped by calm, crystal-clear waters. The town offers a relaxed yet lively atmosphere with a palm-fringed promenade, numerous beach bars, tavernas, and water sports facilities. Beyond the main beach, visitors can explore smaller coves like Sunrise Beach and Vyzakia, or walk to the nearby Cape Greco national park. Protaras is also known for its family-friendly vibe, with shallow waters ideal for children, and a range of accommodations from luxury hotels to self-catering apartments. The town's church of Profitis Elias, perched on a hill, provides panoramic views of the coastline.
