Lara Beach is a remote, undeveloped stretch of golden sand on the Akamas Peninsula, designated as a protected area for sea turtles. From June to August, green and loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay eggs. The Lara Turtle Conservation Station monitors nests and educates visitors. The beach itself is wild and unspoiled, with clear waters ideal for swimming, but amenities are minimal, preserving its natural character.
Don't miss
- Watch for turtle nests and hatchlings (June-October) from a respectful distance
- Visit the conservation station to learn about turtle protection efforts
- Swim in the crystal-clear, calm waters of the bay
