Larnaca Salt Lake is a stunning natural reserve and protected wetland that attracts thousands of migratory birds, especially flamingos, during the winter months. The lake is actually a series of four salt lakes that fill with water in winter and dry up in summer, leaving a white salt crust. Visitors can walk or cycle along the designated paths, enjoy panoramic views, and spot wildlife such as flamingos, swans, and other waterfowl. The adjacent Hala Sultan Tekke adds cultural interest to the natural beauty.

Don't miss

  • Watch flocks of flamingos feeding in the shallow waters (November to March).
  • Walk or cycle the 5 km trail around the lake.
  • Photograph the salt crust and reflections at sunset.
