The Cathedral of Saint Domnius is a remarkable structure that began as the mausoleum of the Roman emperor Diocletian. In the 7th century, it was converted into a Christian cathedral, making it one of the oldest Catholic cathedrals still in use. The octagonal building is surrounded by a colonnade and topped with a bell tower that offers panoramic views of Split. Inside, the cathedral features a richly carved pulpit, medieval altarpieces, and a treasury with relics.
