Built in 1678–1679, this triumphal arch stands at the transition from the newer part of Rovinj to the historic core. Its rusticated stonework and the carved lion of St. Mark above the archway reflect Venetian rule. Today, the arch serves as a popular photo spot and a symbolic passage into the old town's labyrinthine streets. The nearby square, with its clock tower and cafes, makes a pleasant starting point for exploring.

Don't miss

  • Spot the Venetian lion relief above the arch, a remnant of Republic rule.
  • Photograph the arch from the square side for the best perspective.
  • Walk through the arch to enter the old town's main pedestrian street.
