Komiža, on Vis Island's western coast, is a picturesque fishing town with a more relaxed vibe than its neighbor Vis. Its working harbor is filled with colorful fishing boats, and the town's narrow streets are lined with stone houses and family-run konobas serving freshly caught seafood. The main beach, Kamenica, is a pebble cove with clear waters, while nearby beaches like Stiniva and Srebrena are accessible by boat or hiking trails. Dominating the skyline is the 16th-century Komiža Fortress on Mount Hum, offering sweeping views. Komiža is also the departure point for boat trips to the Blue Cave.

Don't miss

  • Hike up to the Komiža Fortress (Tvrđava) on Mount Hum for panoramic views of the town and sea.
  • Relax on the pebble beach Kamenica, just steps from the town center.
  • Visit the Fishermen's Museum (Ribarski muzej) to learn about Komiža's centuries-old fishing traditions.
