Nehaj Fortress stands as a symbol of Senj's turbulent past, built in the 16th century by Croatian ban Petar Kružić to defend against Ottoman incursions. Today, visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of the town, the Adriatic islands, and the Velebit mountains. Inside, a small museum displays weapons, armor, and artifacts from the Uskok pirate era. The fortress's stark stone walls and strategic hilltop location make it a must-see landmark.

Don't miss

  • Panoramic views of Senj, the Adriatic Sea, and the Velebit mountains from the roof
  • Museum exhibits featuring Uskok weapons, armor, and historical artifacts
  • The fortress's well-preserved 16th-century architecture and defensive design
