Stradun, also known as Placa, is the vibrant heart of Dubrovnik's Old Town. This broad limestone-paved street stretches from Pile Gate to the Clock Tower, flanked by elegant Baroque buildings with uniform facades. As the city's main promenade, it buzzes with locals and visitors alike, who stroll past outdoor cafes, boutiques, and historic landmarks. The street's polished surface, worn smooth by centuries of footsteps, reflects the sun and creates a lively atmosphere. At either end, you'll find the Onofrio Fountain and the Orlando Column, adding to its historic charm.

Don't miss

  • Admire the synchronized architecture of the buildings, rebuilt after the 1667 earthquake.
  • Stop at the Onofrio Fountain at the western end for a drink of fresh water.
  • People-watch from a cafe terrace while taking in the lively scene.
