Kupari, located just north of Cavtat, features a row of derelict hotel buildings that were once part of Yugoslavia's socialist-era tourism boom. Constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, these hotels were damaged during the Croatian War of Independence and have since been left to decay. Today, the site offers a surreal contrast between overgrown ruins and the pristine Adriatic coastline. Visitors can walk through empty lobbies, peer into crumbling guest rooms, and see nature reclaiming the structures. The beach remains open to the public, making it a unique spot for swimming amid history.
