Biokovo Nature Park is a protected mountain range rising dramatically behind the Makarska Riviera. Visitors can drive or hike to Sveti Jure, the park's highest summit at 1,762 meters, for breathtaking panoramas of the Adriatic Sea and islands. The park features over 150 kilometers of marked trails through limestone landscapes, pine forests, and meadows rich in endemic flora. Wildlife includes chamois, eagles, and the rare Biokovo lizard.
