Quepos is the main town on Costa Rica's central Pacific coast, serving as the gateway to Manuel Antonio National Park. Its marina is a hub for sportfishing, with charters targeting marlin, sailfish, and tuna. The town itself has a relaxed, authentic feel, with a central market, seafood restaurants, and bars. Visitors can stroll along the waterfront, visit the local fish market, or take a short bus or taxi ride to the park. Quepos offers a more affordable and less touristy base than the hotels directly near the park.

Don't miss

  • Booking a sportfishing charter from the marina for marlin or sailfish.
  • Exploring the central market for local crafts and fresh fruit.
  • Enjoying fresh ceviche at a waterfront restaurant overlooking the Pacific.
