Livingstone Falls, despite the name, is not a single waterfall but a series of immense rapids and cataracts stretching over 350 kilometers along the Congo River. Located downstream from Kinshasa, these rapids drop about 270 meters in elevation, creating a thundering spectacle of white water. Named after the explorer David Livingstone, the site offers breathtaking views from viewpoints along the riverbanks. Boat trips provide a closer look at the churning waters, though caution is essential due to strong currents.

Don't miss

  • View the rapids from the Kinsuka Rapids viewpoint for a panoramic scene
  • Take a boat tour to feel the spray and power of the cataracts
  • Visit the nearby Zongo Falls for a complementary waterfall experience
