The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. The light is a bit too low, making it somewhat hard to appreciate the presentation of the dishes. The service was cordial, but it took a while for us to get noticed, either when ordering or when trying to pay. The food was tasty, and quantious. The cocktails were a bit too pricy for their quality. We ordered: - Ceviche de Chicharrón: the chicharrón was still crispy, despite being submerged in the reduction of the ceviche. The reduction flavor was too strong, and overwhelmed the flavor of the pork. - Encocada de frutos de mar: the squid was delicious. Flavorful, and cooked to a very pleasant texture. The shrimps were crispy and had their own distinctive flavor, which complemented well with the rice, creamy and with coconut hints. - Merengue: hints of mint harmonized beautifully with the sourness of the soursop and the sweetness of the merengue.
We heard about Rio on social media and we were tempted to try, no regrets and had an amazing experience! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, unique and made with care. Various international plates with local ingredients, and the staff made sure to provide suggestions and make sure we were okay throughout the night. The drinks were just as delicious as the meal (Shout out to the Mezcalita). Excellent spot for a date night or a special meal with friends and family.
Superb food and wonderful friendly service. The ceviche is 1st class and the burger was one of the best we have ever had. Cannot recommend more. This is now our go to restaurant in Bogota!
