Xiamen Island is the core of the city of Xiamen in southeastern Fujian, China, on the Taiwan Strait. It is heavily built up but also has plenty of parkland, trees, and flowers, giving it a tropical feel. The island is about 13 km in diameter and is home to most of the city's urban districts.
