Ways to visit Tang Paradise

You can explore Tang Paradise at your own pace. A tour is worth it mainly for transport, or for pairing it with nearby sights in one day.

Getting there

Know before you go

  • Tang Paradise is in Qujiang New District, southeast of Xi'an's urban area, near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
  • The park covers 165 acres (0.67 km²) around a lake, so expect to walk.
  • The Lake Show runs in the evening and draws many thousands of visitors.

A bit of history

The park is located at or near the site of the earlier Furong Garden, which was part of Chang'an, the capital of the Tang dynasty. It is one of several modern reconstructions of ancient sites in Shaanxi, though it incorporates anachronistic features like wide concrete surfaces.
