Good place for beers, they have a broader selection of craft beers compared to most places here. Food is decent, the burger was the most value for money. Service was excellent I thought. The truffle soup was so so. The angel hair beef dish was tasty but kinda like a high class meepoh. Good place to chill and people watch.
The food is good but still has room for improvement. The bonito chicken only has few flakes, the scallion oil angel hair has more soy sauce taste. Generally still acceptable.
Visiting Shanghai was an outstanding experience for me, eating out was a colorfull puzzle since this town has hundreds of restaurants with dozens of different cuisines, not a very easy task for Europeans. This restaurant was my favourite, me and my friends had been there 3 times in two weeks period. After the exhausting walks of 6-8 kilometers, happy hour cocktails and recently the warm wine before an excellent dinner was an oasis. Beautiful people, experienced service, busy open kitchen on the first floor, with an outstanding variety of flavours. Everything had a touch of something that concluded to an amazing result. The tiles of this place is the start of everything, the whole decoration is based on the tiles. The food is really delicious, the first time I had the beef with eggplant puree and broccoli as a side dish, the second time I had the small burgers with fries, the third time I had the pasta with filet and shrimps. All the dishes were very well cooked. If I ever visit Shanghai again, this is the first place that I will go!!!
Food and service - simply Devine. Need something a little different and full of flavour? Or looking for something more western for a change, then don’t go past the refinery restaurant. It was recommended to us and we are recommending it to you. A little pricier than others but money well spent. Great selection of food and drinks including international wine and beer. Very well laid out, architecture and feel in keeping with the environment of the French concession area. Stop for a feed or just a drink. We did both.
