Worst French finesse food I’ve had in a while. A bistro standards but charging fine dining price and their course meal is really bad. Sharing plates and ala carte probably better. Jena Georges is totally more finesse than this deli/bistro place. Can’t even get their bread right, the brioche is so bad.
Good food and even better service. I made a last minute reservation close to the timing of their last order. We arrived past the last order. They let us in anyway. The interior was warmly and tastefully furnished with all the seasonal Christmas fixings and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Despite finishing our meal way past service there was not a moment where we felt rushed. Great standards of hospitality especially for a place like Shanghai. The food was creative and largely satisfactory for a 1 star. Dessert was stupendous. Their patissier is a genius. Every element of the baked alaska was thought out and reinvented, with varying sweet and sour levels to match the texture of each. 2 minor critiques. The seafood could be sourced from higher quality addresses. And if you want to charge 3-4x retail for your wine list, your wines should be appropriately aged. Apart from that a wonderful meal. I will be back
Always a treat to eat here (more of a treat to eat in his Paris restaurant but that’s another matter) We had the set menu this time and all the dishes were good to very good. The beef main course was a touch undercooked. Chef Pierre loves desserts, so the dessert course had 5 items. Then petite fours 9/10
OMG! this restaurant is out of this world! I had such an incredible lunch. There were so many beautifully prepared amuse- bouche. The wine pairing was exceptional. Everything was so delicate, an absolute work of art! The chef is so talented. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Shanghai. ❤️❤️❤️
