Pearl Shoal Waterfall is a broad, terraced cascade within Jiuzhaigou Valley, stretching about 160 meters wide and dropping 40 meters. The water flows over a gently sloping travertine shelf covered in moss and small plants, breaking into thousands of glistening droplets that resemble scattered pearls, hence its name. Visitors can view the waterfall from a boardwalk that runs along its top and base, offering close-up views of the foaming, splashing water. The surrounding forest and the sound of rushing water create a tranquil atmosphere. It is particularly photogenic in the morning when sunlight catches the spray, forming rainbows.

- Stand at the base of the waterfall to feel the fine mist and watch the sun create rainbows in the spray.
- Walk the boardwalk along the top of the falls to see the water sheet over the travertine terraces.
- Visit in late spring or early summer when snowmelt swells the flow, making the 'pearls' more abundant.
