This is an excellent eating place, very popular with locals and fly under the radar with foreigners. Our guide highly recommended it “for authentic Hui cuisine” and he was spot on! The place was bustling when we visited on a weekday evening. This is in contrast to the many other restaurants in Old TunXi street where most restaurants were barely a handful of tables occupied. We didn’t know how or what to order and the staff were extremely helpful! We ended up ordering bamboo shoots stirfry, which is a seasonal specialty and that turned out to be the best dish of our trip to HuangShan! We also tried the smelly fish, which is another renowned Hui dish and liked it! And the renowned “fur tofu” too. We highly recommend this restaurant!!
