Puning Temple, also known as the 'Temple of Universal Peace,' is renowned for housing a colossal 22-meter-tall wooden statue of Avalokitesvara (Guanyin), the bodhisattva of compassion. Carved from a single sandalwood tree, this five-story statue is the largest of its kind in the world. The temple complex itself features elegant Qing dynasty architecture, with a grand entrance gate, bell and drum towers, and a main hall. Visitors can explore the peaceful courtyards and climb the stairs inside the statue's pavilion to see the figure up close.
