The Polanco Lift is one of Valparaíso's most unusual funiculars, operating as a vertical elevator that travels inside a tunnel carved into the rock of Cerro Polanco. The ride begins at a small station near the port and ascends 160 meters through the hill, emerging at the top with a stunning view of the city and harbor. Unlike other funiculars, this lift feels more like an underground adventure, and the upper station opens onto a residential neighborhood with colorful houses and local life.
