The Artillería funicular railway is a historic inclined elevator that has been transporting passengers up and down the steep Cerro Artillería since the late 19th century. Visitors board a wooden car that slowly ascends past vibrant houses and street art, culminating at the top with a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the port and the Pacific Ocean. The ride itself is a nostalgic journey into Valparaíso's maritime past, and the upper station provides access to a small museum and a lookout point perfect for photographs.
Don't miss
- Ride the original wooden car for a classic funicular experience
- Take in the panoramic view from the top lookout over the bay
- Explore the small naval museum at the upper station
