Perched on a hill overlooking the Pedra de Lume crater, this lighthouse has guided ships since the early 20th century. Though no longer in active use, its white tower and red lantern room stand as a landmark against the blue sky. Visitors can walk up to the base (the tower itself is closed) and enjoy sweeping views of the salt flats, the crater rim, and the endless Atlantic. The surrounding area is quiet and windswept, with a few interpretive panels about the lighthouse's history. It's a short, rewarding detour for those exploring the salt crater, especially at sunset.

Don't miss

  • Take in the panoramic view of the Pedra de Lume crater and the coastline
  • Photograph the classic lighthouse silhouette against the dramatic volcanic landscape
  • Read the informational panels about the lighthouse's maritime history
