Blackcomb Peak is one of the two major mountains in Whistler, known for its rugged terrain and spectacular vistas. While primarily a ski destination in winter, in summer it offers some of the most demanding and rewarding hikes in the region. The summit can be reached via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola from Whistler Mountain or by hiking the challenging Blackcomb Glacier Trail. At the top, visitors are treated to panoramic views of the Coast Mountains, Garibaldi Provincial Park, and the turquoise waters of Green Lake below. The alpine environment features wildflowers, rocky outcrops, and occasional snow patches even in summer. It's a must-do for experienced hikers seeking an alpine adventure.
Don't miss
- Hike the Blackcomb Glacier Trail for a strenuous but stunning route to the summit.
- Take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for a scenic ride between Whistler and Blackcomb peaks.
- Enjoy lunch at the Rendezvous Lodge with floor-to-ceiling mountain views.
