Went there for a new year eve dinner which was a preset menu. The staff were nice and accommodating despite a misunderstanding during a part of the meal. They were nice with having us stay for the new year count down with some drinks. Got the halibut for their tasting menu which was the best part overall along with the soup. They also had a decent cocktail menu as well. The portions were pretty good as well.
Our meal and whole experience was truly exceptional. I loved the warmth of the ambiance and staff. The menu was beautifully edited and every single bite was delicious. The cocktail menu and wine list were also excellent. We had a great time and 1000% will be back! Also the music was an added bonus and chef’s kiss!
We dined at Parquet last night and arrived a few minutes late for our 8:30 reservation. Unfortunately, the previous party was still seated, so we waited until around 8:50 to be seated—no biggie. Our server, Daniel, promptly introduced himself and took our drink order, though he appeared a bit overwhelmed and hurried off quickly. About 10 minutes later, another server approached to take our drink order, and we had to explain that we’d already placed it. This marked the beginning of a series of service missteps. On a positive note, the food and drinks were excellent—a solid 5/5. My husband has an extensive list of allergies, but the team accommodated them seamlessly, providing plenty of options. The food arrived well-timed, free of allergens, and absolutely delicious. However, where the experience faltered was in the service details. When our dishes were delivered, there was no explanation of the plates, which I usually appreciate. I also enjoy pepper with most of my meals, but none was offered. When our second course was served, I had to request salt and pepper twice, and it took long enough that my food cooled before they arrived. During our 3rd course, we ordered a natural cider to share. The som/manager came over, and we thought she was there to discuss the cider or wine. Instead, she only asked if we understood what natural wine was. Once we reassured her that we did, the conversation ended abruptly, and she disengaged. Our cider was placed in an ice bucket by the bar, but despite our glasses sitting empty through our entire main course, no one refilled them. After about 20 minutes, we had to ask for a pour. As the restaurant began to empty, Daniel became increasingly scarce, and eventually, we noticed him with his coat on, also leaving... very confusing and we were unclear if we still had a server. In summary, the food and beverages were outstanding, but the service left much to be desired, particularly in terms of attentiveness and engagement. Parquet has great potential, but the uneven service made it hard to fully enjoy the experience.
Women are blatantly ignored by male wait staff. Be prepared for the indignity of being carried down a flight of stairs to pee if you are a person with a disability - perfect your Kegels being attending, you'll need it! Mediocre French cuisine at best.
