Fairview Mountain is a popular hiking peak directly across from Lake Louise, offering one of the best vantage points of the turquoise lake and the Victoria Glacier. The trail ascends steeply through switchbacks in a subalpine forest, then opens to a rocky summit with a 360-degree view of the Lake Louise area, including Mount Whyte and Mount Niblock. It's a strenuous but achievable hike for experienced day-trippers looking for a classic Rockies summit experience.
Don't miss
- Iconic summit view overlooking Lake Louise and the Chateau
- Close-up perspective of Mount Victoria and the glacier
- Alpine wildflowers and potential for pika sightings on the upper slopes
