St. Paul's Church stands as a resilient symbol of Halifax history. Built in 1750, it is the oldest Protestant church in Canada and still holds regular services. During the Halifax Explosion of 1917, a large piece of debris from the blast lodged in the church's interior wall, where it remains today as a silent memorial. Visitors can see this fragment, along with the original box pews and the Royal Coat of Arms from 1758. The church's simple Georgian architecture and serene interior offer a poignant contrast to its dramatic past.
