Parliament Hill, though in Ottawa, is often grouped with Gatineau attractions due to its proximity across the river. This Gothic Revival complex is the seat of Canada's Parliament, with the Centre Block dominated by the Peace Tower. Visitors can tour the historic chambers, watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony in summer, and enjoy panoramic views from the tower. The grounds feature statues of prime ministers and the Centennial Flame. At night, the buildings are beautifully illuminated, and during summer, the Sound and Light Show tells Canada's story.

Don't miss

  • Climb the Peace Tower for sweeping views of the Ottawa River and Gatineau Hills
  • Tour the Senate and House of Commons chambers with free guided visits
  • Watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony on the front lawn (daily at 10 am in summer)
