The Arrow Air Flight 1285R memorial commemorates the December 12, 1985 crash of a McDonnell Douglas DC-8 carrying U.S. Army peacekeepers home from the Sinai. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Gander, killing all 248 passengers and 8 crew. Located at Gander Lake, the memorial features a granite monument inscribed with victims' names, surrounded by flags and benches.
