Midland Provincial Park encompasses a rugged expanse of Alberta's badlands, characterized by eroded hoodoos, coulees, and layered sedimentary rock. The park offers several hiking trails that wind through this unique terrain, including the 1.4 km Badlands Interpretive Trail, which features interpretive signs and a fossil display. Visitors can also see the remains of a historic coal mine and enjoy wildlife viewing, such as mule deer and golden eagles. The park's proximity to the Royal Tyrrell Museum makes it a perfect complement to a fossil-focused visit.

Don't miss

  • Hike the Badlands Interpretive Trail for close-up views of hoodoos and fossilized remains.
  • Explore the historic Atlas Coal Mine site within the park, with remnants of mining equipment.
  • Look for wildlife like pronghorn antelope and coyotes along the park's trails.
