Province House, a stately sandstone building in downtown Charlottetown, is where delegates from Britain's North American colonies gathered in 1864 to discuss union, ultimately leading to the Dominion of Canada in 1867. Today, visitors can tour the restored Confederation Chamber, where the historic meetings took place, and explore exhibits on the conference and Prince Edward Island's political history. The building remains the seat of the provincial legislature, adding living history to its significance.
