Grassi Lakes are two vividly turquoise alpine lakes nestled in the Canadian Rockies near Canmore. The hike to the lakes is a moderate 4-kilometer round trip that gains about 300 meters in elevation, passing through lush forest and past a waterfall. Interpretive signs along the trail explain the area's geology, wildlife, and significance to the Stoney Nakoda people. The lakes' striking color comes from dissolved minerals in the glacial runoff, creating a surreal and photogenic destination.
