East End of Rundle, commonly called EEOR, is a popular hiking destination that ascends the easternmost peak of the Mount Rundle massif. The trail is known for its relentless steepness, gaining about 800 meters in elevation over 4 kilometers. Hikers are rewarded with sweeping views of Canmore, the Bow River, and the Three Sisters. The route is non-technical but requires good fitness and sturdy footwear. Many hikers tackle EEOR as a half-day adventure, often combining it with a scramble to the summit. The trailhead is located just off the Spray Lakes Road, a short drive from Canmore.

Don't miss

  • Reach the summit for a 360-degree panorama of Canmore, the Bow Valley, and the Three Sisters.
  • Challenge yourself with the steep, continuous ascent, one of the toughest day hikes near Canmore.
  • Enjoy wildflowers in early summer and golden larches in autumn along the lower slopes.
