The Terrace of the Elephants stretches along the Royal Square of Angkor Thom, serving as a grand viewing stand for public ceremonies and royal processions. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, its walls are carved with elephants, garudas, and warriors. Visitors can walk along the platform and imagine the pageantry of the Khmer Empire. The terrace connects to the Victory Gate and is part of the Angkor Archaeological Park.

Don't miss

  • Walk the entire length of the terrace to see the detailed elephant carvings.
  • Look for the five-headed horse sculpture at the central stairway.
  • View the parade ground and imagine royal processions from this vantage point.
