Baldwin's Tower is a fully restored medieval tower on the eastern side of Tsarevets hill. It is named after Baldwin I, the Latin emperor of Constantinople, who was captured by Tsar Kaloyan of Bulgaria and imprisoned here after the Battle of Adrianople in 1205. The tower offers a glimpse into medieval defensive architecture, with multiple levels and a rooftop terrace. Visitors can climb to the top for excellent views of the fortress and surrounding area. Inside, exhibits interpret the tower's history and the dramatic story of Baldwin's captivity.
