Lake Ariana is the centerpiece of Borisova Gradina, Sofia's oldest and largest park. Created in the early 20th century, this artificial lake offers a serene escape from the city. Visitors can rent rowboats or pedal boats to glide across the calm water, or simply relax on benches under the shade of century-old trees. The lake is surrounded by walking paths, flower gardens, and a small island with a pavilion. In summer, it's a popular spot for picnics and people-watching, while autumn brings vibrant foliage reflections on the water.
