The Giurgiu Clocktower is a historic landmark in the Romanian city of Giurgiu, directly across the Danube from Ruse. Built in the late 1700s during Ottoman rule, the tower stands about 30 meters tall and features a distinctive octagonal top with a clock face on each side. It originally served as a watchtower and later as a timekeeping structure. From the Ruse waterfront, visitors can clearly see the tower rising above Giurgiu's skyline. A short trip across the Danube Bridge allows for an up-close look at its stone masonry and the surrounding old town, offering a glimpse into the region's shared history.
