Poda Protected Area is a coastal wetland reserve located just south of Burgas, forming part of the Burgas Wetlands complex. It features a network of wooden boardwalks and birdwatching towers that wind through reed beds, freshwater pools, and lagoons. The reserve is a critical stopover for migratory birds, including the Dalmatian pelican, glossy ibis, and various herons. Visitors can walk the trails independently or join guided tours, learning about the area's ecology while enjoying panoramic views of the Black Sea and Strandzha Mountains.

Don't miss

  • Climb the main observation tower for sweeping views of the wetlands and sea
  • Spot Dalmatian pelicans and glossy ibises from the hides
  • Walk the boardwalk trail through reed beds and open water channels
