Istana Nurul Iman is the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei and the largest residential palace in the world, boasting 1,788 rooms, 257 bathrooms, and a 5,000-person banquet hall. Visitors can admire its gleaming golden domes and sprawling grounds from the outside, as the palace is only open to the public during the annual Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, when thousands queue to greet the Sultan and enjoy lavish hospitality.
