The USS Amberjack (SS-522) is a decommissioned Tench-class submarine that now serves as a floating museum moored at the Estação das Artes in Fortaleza. Visitors can climb aboard to see the cramped living spaces, control room, and torpedo bays, gaining a visceral sense of life underwater. Unlike typical naval exhibits, this sub retains much of its original equipment, making it a rare opportunity to step inside a piece of maritime history. The museum also highlights the vessel's service during the Cold War and its eventual donation to Brazil.
