Sao Paulo boasts a vibrant culinary scene that includes some of the best Spanish restaurants in Brazil, reflecting the city's diverse cultural heritage. Spanish cuisine has a significant presence in Sao Paulo, influenced by the large Spanish immigrant community that settled in the city during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This historical context has led to the establishment of numerous authentic Spanish restaurants that serve traditional dishes. Among the top Spanish dining options in Sao Paulo, restaurants like Taberna 474 and Casa do Porco are notable for their commitment to authenticity. Taberna 474 offers a menu rich in tapas, including patatas bravas, a dish of fried potatoes served with a spicy tomato sauce, and gambas al ajillo, garlic shrimp sautéed in olive oil. Casa do Porco, while primarily known for its pork dishes, also features Spanish-inspired offerings like paella, a classic rice dish typically made with saffron, seafood, and vegetables. For those seeking affordable Spanish dining, venues like El Tranvía provide a range of tapas and paella at reasonable prices, making it a popular spot among locals. The average cost for a meal at these establishments can range from 50 to 150 Brazilian reais, depending on the dishes and dining experience. Other popular Spanish spots include A Casa do Porco and La Cevicheria, where patrons can enjoy a mix of traditional and contemporary interpretations of Spanish food. The presence of these local Spanish restaurants not only highlights the culinary diversity of Sao Paulo but also showcases the enduring influence of Spanish culture in the region. Overall, the best Spanish restaurants in Sao Paulo offer a rich tapestry of flavors and experiences that reflect both tradition and innovation in Spanish cuisine. ✨ HighlightThe place was small but one of the best restaurants I have tried while travelling around the world. The place is hip and well designed. They are Michelin recommended as well. The dishes were delicious with fusion of flavour and ingredients. Every dish we tried was excellent and mouth watering. You can feel every ingredient with each bite. The Octopus on black rice was my number one choice. The grilled shrimps were so so delicious in the garlic wine sauce. Make sure to make reservation before going.→

✨ HighlightDefinitely the best cod fish in town even better than the Rancho 53 franchise. The bacalhau à lenha was extremely soft, right salted, they could have add more olives though. The churros also very tasty as well as the shrimp and the codfish dumplings. Service by Danilo was spot on. Bacalhoada a lenha is my favorite.→

✨ HighlightSo the food is very good, did the tasting and I did like it. But it’s just way way too slow. For example, didn’t get water for 15 minutes and 45 minutes in I had a bowl of consommé, which was delicious no doubt, but a long wait. Throughout the tasting, about 20% of dishes were explained to me. Wouldn’t be a problem except there was a waitress who spoke English, and another table a few away, which I was pacing the same with, had every dish explained in English. No reason they couldn’t do the same with me. She was typically just elsewhere but the result was being served the dishes you see pictured without any explanation as to what they were. Also it was a little under 3 hours and the plates are small, so honestly it just ended up being kind of boring. Delicious, but too slow and unengaging. If you come, bring a big group.→
