✨ HighlightThis restaurant is the definition of classic French fine dining, from the menu to the décor. Opened in 1963 by Chef Bernard Goethals, this is the oldest restaurant offering French cuisine in Salvador. The current chef is Laurent Rezette, a Belgian who has lived in Salvador for over 20 years and has worked in many upscale restaurants. The restaurant's decoration compares favorably with the best restaurants I have visited, but the place feels like a casual setting, as you are treated as if you have arrived home. Our waiter Nelson was excellent. The menu is the most classic you are going to come across, which I enjoyed, because you will usually find one or 2 items on a menu, but not an entire menu. Foie gras, quiche, soufflé, coq au vin and crêpes Suzette are just some of the items they have to offer. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the Bay of All Saints (“Bahia de Todos os Santos”), which was discovered by Amerigo Vespucci in 1501. They are open for lunch and dinner, and I am sure that whenever you eat here, you will have a wonderful meal and experience, but if you have to choose, I recommend making a lunch reservation, so you can enjoy the view too.→
