Kgale Hill is a distinctive granite outcrop rising 200 meters above the city, often called the 'mountain of Gaborone.' A well-trodden trail leads hikers through rocky terrain and scrubland to the summit, where sweeping views of the capital, the dam, and the distant hills await. The hike is moderately strenuous and takes about an hour each way. It's a popular weekend activity for fitness enthusiasts and those seeking a quick nature escape.

Don't miss

  • Reach the summit for a 360-degree view of Gaborone and the dam
  • Spot rock hyraxes and bird species along the trail
  • Photograph the sunrise or sunset from the top
