Baščaršija is the old bazaar and cultural center of Sarajevo, dating back to the 15th century when it was founded by Ottoman governor Isa-Beg Ishaković. Visitors wander cobblestone streets filled with copper workshops, craft stores, and traditional cafes serving Bosnian coffee. The area's distinctive Ottoman architecture, including the Sebilj fountain, creates a lively atmosphere where history and daily life blend. It's the perfect place to experience Sarajevo's multicultural heritage through its sights, sounds, and tastes.
